Mr Hyde inserts a notic* with this issue referring to hi» art union, the drawing of which takes place on Xmas Eve. The pictures to be disposed of are of real value and no one should fail to have a ticket. Soino lucky half-crowns will be invested in this art union.

A meeting of tho Mangatainoka Island Domain Board was held at Mr Wagstaffs on Wednesday evening. Present—Messrs Barrell (in the chair), Helps, Wagstaff, Cade and Polglase. Mr Barrell was elected chairman and Mr Cade secretary. The meeting was opened by reading the extract from the Act and also by the reading of tli© Gazotte notice. On the motion of Mr Cade, seconded by Mr Wagstaff, it was resolved that the Pahiatua Borough Council be applied to for all books and documents in connection with the Domain. It was decided that a special meeting be called for Saturday evening next to confirm the minutes and forward a copy of the same to Mr Barron, Under secretary for Crown Lands.
