| A very enjoyable concert and dance was i held in the schoolroom on Friday night in j aid of the local sports fund. The concert i opened by a pianoforte selection, “ Caliph |of Bagdad” by Mr K. Meyer. Then came ' the following:—Song, “Elsie in the Glen,” ! Mr Tonkins; song, “Death of Nelson,” i MrCroft; cornet solo, “ Anchor Weighed,” ! Mr Sparks; comic reading, Mr Hopkirk; I song. “ The song that reached my heart,” j Mr Thilpott : flute solo, Mr Ogdon ; • banjo solo. “ Razors in the air,” Mr Mow- ! bray ; Highland fling, Masters C. and S. ■ Smith; song, “Tell her I love her so,” i Mr Udy ; song, “ Tom Bowling,” Mr ' Croft; son", “ Sailer Boy,” Mr Cox ; song, ' “ Jolly little chap,” Mr 11. I’ippen ; song, | “ Nancy,” Mr G. Smith. Aftsr the ron- | cert the room was cleared for dancing and J refreshments handed round. About thirty i couple tripped merrily till daylight. The j music for the dance was supplied by Messrs E. Meyer (piano), \V. Sparks • (cornet), Lucrs and Wilson (violin).
