Foresters’ Annual Ball.
The annual ball, held ia connection with Court Pahiatua, Anoient Order of Foresters, took place on Friday evening last and proved a thorough success. The Public Hall was very prettily decorated with flags, evergreens, mirrors, Foresters’ certificates etc and looked really charming. The floor was in better condition than at any previous dance —a result achieved after much hard work. The music was supplied by Misses Falconer (piano), Gowing (violin) and Mr Starkey (cornet). During the evening Miss Yule and Messrs Holder and Wriglsv kindly played extras. There were a number cf fancy dresses observable, among which we noticed tho following:—Miss Mills, lolanthe ; Mrs Jones, Ferryman’s Daughter; Miss Yule, Swiss Girl; Miss A. Yule, Pink; Miss M. Yule, Blue-Bell; Miss Oldershaw, Night; Mis* King, Morning Star; Miss N. Mills. Red Riding Hood; Mr Lush. Spanish Cavalier; Mr Hasting*. Clown; Mr H. Spargo, Mexican ; Mr Chambers, Foliceman; Mr Smith, Clown ; Mr E. Clark, Negress; Mr F. Holder, Negro; Mr C. Morris, Sailor; Mr Devonshire, Boatswain ;Mr Walters, Cricketer. Pressure on our space prevent* our giving a more detailed report. We must, however, congratulate the committee on the very complete character of the arrangements, which fully deserved the success achieved.
