LABOR TROUBLES.

Sir, —As your paper ku euoh s large circulation in your district, I trust you will pormit the following ineertion ia the intereete of the general community. A reeolution passed by the General Werkere Union of New Zealand :
“In consideration of the fnot that at the preeent moment two of Whitnly King's agents of the Australian Pastoraliats' Union are in this colony who will attempt to secure white slaves for Australia, members are advised to warn by every means the shearers of New Zealand
as to the necessity which exiete for resisting overtures of the nature mentiened, and are asked not to acoept any engagement through the Paatoralists' Union or take any step calculated to overthrow the joint agreement of 1891.” The Shearers’ and Laborers’ Union at their last conference decided to change the name to the Workers' Union, and are now endeavoring to enroll members of every trade, grade, and shade of opinion in the colony, and trust at no distant data to be able to say that they have been the means of bringing oapital and labor to work together amicably hand in hand.—l am, etc., Secretart YVorkkrs’ Union, Pahiatua-Woodville branch.
