The Fox Commission.

Tho conclusion arrived at by the Fox Lot ti t- Commission is that the newspape r obtained the information during ho period which elapsed from th time tho letter was laid on Mr Cadman’s table nnt'l it was seen by him in tho afternoon ; that at tome portion of that time the letter was in Sir Patrick Buckley’s possession and that the information which appeared in the paper was positively from the original correspondence on

the 4th April. Against this a declaration by Mr E. T. (itUon, editor of the newspaper mentioned. The conclusion arrived at by the Commission having been made known to him he has made a declaration before a Jus-

tice of the Peace, stating positively that the assumption that his paper obtained the information on the 4th April while the letter was in the po-session of Sir Patrick Buckley or Mr ( adman, or that the information was obtained from them or from their messenger is altogether contrary to fact; that neither directly or indirectly were Sir Patrick Buckley or Mr Cadman or the messenger concerned or implicated in his paper having obtained the information regarding the letter: and that it did not reach the paper in the manner assumed by the Commissioner in hit report.
