Mangatainoka School Committee.
The above Committee met on Saturday evening last. The headmaster reported number on roll to be 238 ; average attendance, 166; highest attendance, 190. The erection of shelter sheds and outbuildings were given iuto Mr Leeds’ hands.
Resolved that the school be let to Dr Burnaby on Friday evening next. The Lending Library Committee recommended to accept promises of subscribers, also subscriptions and donations, the subscriptions to be 2s per quarter in advance, and to take effect from opening of said library. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Robinson, pianist, for his valuable services in connection with the Operetta.
A vote of thanks was also accorded Mr and Miss Wilson and Mr Hoisted in connection with same.
Following is the balance-sheet of tho operetta : —Dr.—Receipts, Pahiatua, j£B 12s lid; Mr F. G. Moore, 8s 6d; Mangatainoka, XlO 16s 6d ; subscription from Mr Sullivan, 3s ; balance, 6d ; total, £2O Os 6d. Cr—Mr H. Wilson, paid, £7 10s; Mr H, Collier, JE7 10s; Miss Wilson, 14s 3d ; attendance, Pahiatua, 5s ; hire of hall, JOl ; Herald, 201 6s; Observer, 5s ; coach, 10s ; prize fund, ill 0s 4d. Total, H2O 0s 6d.
