(From an occasional Correspondent) Anyone wanting to get n good idea of tho amount of road work and bush settle ment that has been done in the bush dis trict will be well repaid if they take a trip up the Mukuri Valley. Thev can drive a buggy as far as Mr Whitta’s, then take a horse along the six-foot track to the top of the Ptfketoi range, from which they can sco right across to the moutli of the Akiteo river, with the sea beyond ; while under the eastern slope of the range can be seen Pahiatua No. 1,2, 8, and 4 Special Settlements and the Woodville Rising Sun Block now under survey. In the Pahiatua Associations several settlers have had good burns.
