MaSTBBTON, This day. \ Before the commencement ol the llatn and Kwe Fair yesterday, John Drum- I mond. sheep inspector, who haa been i transferred to Hawke's Bay, waa presented by the settler* of the district with an illuminated testimonial and a puree of 100 aova aa a mark ol esteem and respect. Mr Buchanan made the presentation. Beautiful weather has been experienced for the Masterton Ham and Ewe Fair, fhere is a very large attendance of sheep breeder# from all parts- The highest price# yesterday were 3*l guineu* for a ram from th# flock of Perry Brea. To-day entries are over 80. The autumn ahow of the Horticultural Society will he one of the beet yet held. Entries are numerous.
