A publication has already appeared under the title of the Weekly Graphic for which we have to thank Miss Lucy Beavis. In starting a school newspaper our aim is to arouse greater interest in all matters affecting the welfare of the children, whether of an instructive or of a recreative character. We hope that both boys and girls will join together in working for the success of the paper first by sending in articles and then by reading it w-hen it appears. The paper will be managed by Miss Lucy Beavis, an editress who will be assisted by Misses Laura Wakeman and Alice Williams and Masters Chas. Taylor and Peter Connell. Mr Darroch will act as reader and general supervisor. In subsequent issues it will be pointed out how the reading matter will be divided.” The little paper contains locals, correspondence, notices, and all the requisites of a paper. The idea is a good one and well worthy of encouragement. Mr George Hunter announces his candidature for the representation of Wai pawa in the Parliament about to be elected. Mr John Graham, of the anti-monopoly stores, has a replace advertisement in this issue. Mrs Williams notifies that as she is about to leave the district she intends to dispose of her furniture by private sale. Messrs Abraham and Williams advertise in this issue a lengthy list of entries for their Palmerston North sale on Friday, 10th inst.

Messrs Wenley and Lanauze, of Napier, advertise a sale of wool oddments, sheepskins, hides and tallow for Wednesday. November 15th, and also notify dates ol wool sales for season 1898-94.
