High School Boys’ Distinctions

Several remarkable distinctions which had fallen to pupils of the Otago Boys’ High School this year were mentioned by the rector (Mr W. J. Morrell) at the prize-giving ceremony on Friday. The Rugby team holds the championship for the Third Grade competition, and the Association team and the hockey team hold the championships in their particular grades. In addition to this the dux, W. R. Rodgerson, had been awarded the Defence Department’s prize for the best cadet N.C.O. in the Southern Command, while C. C. Byar, the winner of the Shooting Cup, had brought distinction on himself and the school by winning an A pilot’s flying license from the Defence Department.
