Applications for 22 licenses to stalk deer over blocks of country in the Haast region of South Westland during March and April next year will close xvith the secretary of the Westland Acclimatisation Society on November 30. Mr Edward Espy Martin, who died in Melbourne on January IS, has bequeathed the sum of £5OO for the purpose of establishing a scholarship at hi 3 old school, Wellington College.
