AUCKLAND, August 25. Because a wiper was not to be employed in the engine room of the new motor vessel Tiri, members of the Seamen’s Union refused to offer for service on the vessel. Eventually the Tiri was despatched for Norfolk Island with a nonunion crew of three seamen, who also loaded the cargo, comprising 20 tons.
