MEAT EXPORT CONTROL ACT

MR LYSNAR’S AMENDING BILL. WELLINGTON, August 27. The proposed amendment to the Meat Export Control Act was considered by a meeting of delegates" to the Meat Producers’ Board and the following resolution was carried unanimously: “That this meeting records its strong disapproval of a private member of Parliament introducing a Bill to amend materially the Meat Export Control Act without it being first submitted for consideration to the various organisations 'epresenting the sheep owners of this Dominion. This meeting expresses confidence with the present constitution of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board, and considers that the subject matter of Mr W. D. Lysnar's Amendment Bill, and the method of election proposed therein, are against the best interests of the producers.” It was decided that copies of the resolution be sent to the Prime Minister (Mr G. W. Forbes) and members of Parliament, the Sheepowners’ Federation, and Farmers' Unions for earnest consideration and support.
