THE KARERE TRAGEDY
POLICE INVESTIGATIONS HAMPERED BY LACK OF.CLUE. N., August 28. So far nothing has occurred to shed additional light on the Karere murder. A party of police and detectives commenced an intensive search of the surrounding locality for the weapon which inflicted the fatal wounds on Blakeway. Ditches and drains are being combed with rakes and forks. It is understood that the search for the letter, allegedly of a threatening nature, which was previously reported to have come into the possession of the deceased, will be futile, as it had probably been destroyed. No date has been fixed for the inquest. NO NEW DEVELOPMENTS PALMERSTON N., August 30. There are no new developments in the Karere murder case.
