ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY.

EFFECT OF BREAKDOWN. GISBORNE, February 28. The power supply last night was interrupted fpr half an hour. It was ascertained that this was due to a breakdown on the line between Bunnythorpe and Wanganui. The power normally consumed by the southern load in assisting Mangahao was thrown back on Waikaremoana, resulting in an upset of the voltage balance. This necessitated ” tripping ” the Poverty Bay supply switch to save the destruction of material there by over-supply of current.
