MATAURA SCHOOL JUBILEE.
EXECUTIVE AIEETS. GORE, November 2-4. A meeting of the executive committee of the Alataura Ex-Pupi’s’ Association was held in the school on Friday, Mr A. N. AlacGibbon presiding over a large attendance. Among the correspondence received were several letters from ex-pupils now holding responsible positions in various parts of the Dominion, and containing many interesting particul rs regarding the early history of the school. Most oi this information will be published in extenso in the souvenir booklet to be issued in connection wit; the jubilee. The secretary was instructed to write to Air E. A. Phillips, of Dunedin, asking for quotations for printing photos similar to the samples forwarded b’ him for the Roxburgh jubilee function. It was left to the president and secretary to draw up an advertisement for insection in the leading daily papers of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin, aid also in two weekly papers. Mr C. Henry reported that a meeting of brigade secretaries had been held during the week at Airs Thorn’s residence, when good work was accomplished, rolls being adjusted, more addresses obtained, and further names secured for the roll. The secretary submitted a circular in the form of a progress report to be sent to all members of the association. The circular was adopted with minor alterations. As an indication of the progress already made by the association it is worthy of note that so far 1631 names of ex-pupils have been obtained. Of these 1333 have been circularised, their addresses having been obtained. The number of enrolments stands at 352.
