Some of those worthy people who do good deeds at Christmas time are already making their arrangements for this year (says a Christchurch exchange). The Christchurch Optimists’ Club is going to provide a Christmas dinner for a large number of orphans, and the residents and members of the Christchurch Y.M.C.A. intend to give a Christmas treat, complete with Christmas tree, and all the usual embellishments, to poor children of the city.
In spite of the magnificent work of the L.C.C. in rehousing schemes, there are still 200,000 houses unfit for habitation in unhealthy areas in London.
