"All persons are deemed to be innocent until proved guilty,” said Mr J. H. Salmon. 8.M., in the Wellington Magistrate’s Court some days ago, when applications were made to him for the interim suppression of the names of two accused (relates the Evening Post). .. “Until some provision is made by the Statute to deal with the question of suppression of accused persons’ names while on remand, the coui-t must deal with each case on its merits.”
