DAYLIGHT SAVING.
FARMERS EXPRESS DISAPPROVAL. WELLINGTON, May 3. The executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union met to-day. Mr J. W. Pow, the secretary, said that two months ago he approached the branches in order to secure signatures to a petition to Parliament against the retention of daylight saving. He had received a number of replies against the Act, and the petition would be presented. APPRECIATED BY CRICKETERS. “ That, in view of the experience of this association during the past season, and the beneficial effect of the measure in general, this committee is strongly in favour of the continuance of the Summer Time Act,” was a motion passed ~at a meeting of the executive of the Otago Cricket Association” on Thursday evening.
