RAILWAY SERVANTS.

FORMATION OF GUARDS’ UNION. • AUCKLAND. April 30. At a specially-called mass meeting of the Auckland branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, Mr L. MTlride, general secretary, addressed members on sectionalism within the union. The meeting carried the following resolution unanimously:— “ This mass meeting, representative of all sections of railwaymen, strongly deprecates the action of certain sections of our membership, as reported in the press, in their effort to distintegrate the society which has been of such inestimable value to them in the past. It further reaffirms its determination to remain loyal to the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, which has weathered so" many storms, and is our only protection.*?
