It is reported on excellent authority that arrangements have been completed under which Sir Joseph Ward will build a theatre, in Invercargill (reports the Southland Times). The theatre will be used for pictures and vaudeville, and probably will be called the Regent. A simplified form of ballot was adopted at one of the country householders’meetings in Taranaki last week (reports the Herald). Five committeemen were needed, and six persons were present. They drew lots “to see who was the lucky one,” and the others formed the committee.
