When a husband and wife joined in asking the magistrate at Highgate, London, to quash the order separating them, the magistrate was curious to know what had happened to influence this desire The wife replied that she had returned to live with her husband and had found that he worked better when she was with him. The man said that the separation had made him realise what a treasure a wife really was. “ She’s worth her weight in gold,” he added. The magistrate quashed the order. An old lady of Masterton was asked by a friend if she liked daylight saving (states the Wairarapa Daily Times). She said that for her own part it robbed her of sleep, but that the extra hour of sunshine had been very good for the tomatoes!
