At the Child Welfare Court at Ashburton a farm labourer, aged 17 years, was brought before Mr Orr Walker, S.M., and charged with having indecently assaulted a girl at Brookside in October. He was sentenced to a term not ’ exceeding three years in the Borstal Institute.
