Tt happened in a bus coming to the city from the eastern suburbs (says the Auckland Star). A young girl—not more than 12 years—entered the bus, carefully holding a baby, whose head was covered by a thick shawl. The bus being full, a man at once got up and offered the young nursemaid his seat. Near the end of the journey the girl alighted, and, in doing so. let the baby fall to the ground. But not a single cry came from the infant, which the girl picked up by the leg. It was a doll.
