When their letter-box disappeared from the front gate the other night, a Whataupoko household thought some practical jokers had been at work, but when the family awoke the following morning to find the front gate missing they thought it beyond a joke (says the Poverty Bay Herald). Judging by a neighbour’s experience a few weeks ago, it is possible that the gate and the letter-box have disappeared for good. A neighbour stated that several weeks ago a lady’s bicycle was taken from the rear of the house.
