Evidently all the members of the Canadian “Soccer” team are not used to cold weather, despite the fact that Canada and snow are usually associated, and the actions of the Canadian goalie on the afternoon of the match in Napier last week created quite a lot of amusement (says the Napier Telegraph). He experienced difficulty in keeping warm, and amidst the crowd’s laughter commenced a series of runs across the field whilst the game was in progress, leaving the goal quite unprotected. These runs, however, were indulged in only when his team was attacking strongly, and although he left the net unprotected, he did not leave it in danger.
