WEDDING.

The Gore Roman Catholic Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding of widespread interest when Kathleen, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles L. ChitLock “Glffnshee,” Waikoikoi, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Lewis R. M’Donald, manager for the National Bank of New Zealand at Cromwell, and a former member of the staff at Gore of that institution. The spacious building was comfortably filled by’ the large concourse of guests and other interested friends, and the altar and nave of the church were beautifully decorated with seasonal flowers. The bride, who was given away by her father, was beautifully attired in a French wedding dress of white georgette, handsomely veiled with finest Swiss lace, a delightful diamond and pearl ornament finishing the long waist with a diamond and pearl tassel. The skirt was finished with Vandyke points of georgette and lace. Her exquisite veil, surmounted by a beautiful coronet of silk tulle ornamented with pearls and orange blossom, was arranged to form a train, and silver shoes and stockings and a dainty shower bouquet completed a very charming toilet. The bridesmaid, Miss Nina-Hardy, of Invercargill, wore a beautiful frock of cornflower blue georgette over blue satin. The long waist was inset with pure lace, revealing a long knife-pleated’ panel of georgette, over which the full skirt, edged with lace, hung in graceful folds. She wore a large cream crinoline hat trimmed with tiny flowers, silver shoes and stockings, and carried a bouquet. The nuptial knot was tied by Rev. Father M’Donald, of Hastings, a brother of the bridegroom. Mr W. D. Shelton capably fulfilled his obligations as best man. After the ceremony, an adjournment was made to the Cosy Tea Rooms, where a reception was held, some 90 guests being present, jlr and Mrs M’Donald left later, en route for Hastings and Wanganui, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride travelled in a French crepe de chine frock of bois de rose, a coatee of fawn over gold and suede trimmings, a semi-box-pleated skirt finished with Eton collar and tie, a black georgette picture hat with trimmings to match, and a handsome musquash fur coat.
