Following on the epidemic of diphtheria at Willowby during December the County Health Inspector (Mr E. N. Johnson) decided on the swabbing of all the pupils of the Willowby School This has been completed (says the Ashburton Guardian), and two of the pupils have been classed as “carriers” of the germs. One of them had already spent 16 weeks in the County" Hospital as a carrier but had been dis,charged after three negative swabs had been taken. Both cases have been isolated at their respective homes.
