In accordance with legislation of last session relating .to scientific and industrial research, four national research scholarships are to be awarded annually by the Council of Scientific Research to graduates in the New Zealand University, or other approved' applicants. The scholarships are worth £lBO per annum and the work of investigation shall be carried out at a university college or institution approved by the council.
To remove stains from clothes in which jam or fruit puddings have been cooked put an eggshell into the water in which they are being scalded.
