FEILDING SHOW.

STOCK ENTRIES INCREASED. FEILDING, February 1. The Feilding shpw was opened to-day in showery weather. The stock entries were larger in number than last year. The features of the show are Jersey cattle, and Romney and Southdown sheep. The Jerseys are a very strong class comprising splendid animals. In the Southdowns there was keen competition with entries which attracted much attention. The Romneys were a strong section from a wide district. The following are the championships awarded:— Shorthorn bull, G. D. Mobeth. Hereford bull, Estate E. Short; cow, Estate E. Short. Ayrshire bull, A. Montgomerie. Jersey bull, W. T. Williams; cow, W. T. Williams. Friesian bull, N. P. Neilson ; cow. W. A. Kyle; grade dairy cow, L. and .J. Griffiths. Romney ram, E. E. Short; ewe, E. E. Short. Points Prizes: 'Fried an classes, W. A. Kyle;, grade dairy classes, A. Montgomerie; stud Romneys, H. B. Johnston; lamb and T.E.G. classes, H. Gray; pigs, J. A. Russell.

FEILDING, February 2. Good weather prevailed for People’s Day and there was a large attendance. The stock entries, particularly Jerseys in the dairy classes, and fat sheep. Romneys and ■Southdowns, were considered excellent.

The following additional championships have been awarded :—• Southdown ram and ewe, Jas. Knight. Hack, P. Winge’s Pathfinder. The Ladies’ Hunter’s Competition was won by Miss M. J. Stewart’s Gentleman Jack. The Open Hunters’ Competition was won by J. Shaw’s Rita, with A. Mercer’s Gilgai second, and W. Hobson’s Max third.
