A SUFFICIENT TEST.
MOTORIST’S SOBRIKTY. HAMILTON, August 31. A remarkable case was heard in the Magistrate’s Court at Hamilton this morning, when a man was charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car. He was ordered by tne constable to drive to the police station, and was arrested. Despite the evidence of three constable® that defendant was drunk, the Magistrate dismissed the case, saying that the defendant’s senses were not sufficiently impaired to render him incapable of driving the car. His condition at the station was attributed to concern at being arrested, and the fact that he is slightly deaf.
