If is expected that an announcement will bo made very, shortly about the site of the Agricultural College It was hoped that the Minister of Agriculture would have been in e position to make a statement some time ago, but various considerations prevented hiqa from doing so. The Government has now come to a decision and os the Ministers whose departments are chiefly concerned ail appear to he teady Mr Hawken may be heard from this week. It had been thought for some that Weraioa, where the State has low# maintained an experimental farm, would the chosen locality, but later information t<* 5 that the site is '.ikely to be nearer Palmerston North. In fact, certain in•enßstcd persons are convinced that the site very close indeed to Palmerston North.
