Hawken (Minister of Agriculture) on his arrival in Dunedin on Saturday, and asked him to arrange that theso plots should remain ©vor the Winter Show.

Tho President (Mr George Black) pointed out that they were of -rent value to the farming community, and suggested that the oflicers of the department might give lectures during tin aw and have general discussion where farmers might have tho opportunity of asking .questions and obtaining further nformation. Th Minister was most sympathetic, and stated that he saw no reason why it could not be arranged that those plots should remain and give the farmers attending the show an opportunity of inspecting them and seeing what results could be obtained, but ns the Director of Agriculture was there he would see him and ascertain if there were any objection. Dr 0. J. Rcakes was afterwards scon, and stated that with the Minister’s approval these plots would remain, and he would be pleased to arrange for an officer of the nurtment to give lectures and assist tho committee, as ho fully recognised the value gained by such experiments, hero tho farmers could see tin* results obtained. Tho committee has also arranged n conference with representatives of the Manufacturers’ Association to consider a proposal to allow some of these exhibits to remain at the show, and to discuss a proposal which would ensure tho manufacturers being well represented at future shows.
