Good progress lias been made with the filling in o£ the course proper at Ellerslie between the seven and six-furlong posts, and everything promises to be in readiness for the Pakuranga Hunt Club’s meeting, which takes place the first week in October. . Of the two-year-olds in training at headquarters the Absurd —Moira Machree colt commands most attention at present. Ihe full brother to Loyal Irish is certainly a promising-looking youngster. Mr N. Cunningham has a nice-looking two-year-old by Day Comet—Chime, a halfsister to Rafa. The Lucullus—Avon Park youngster m Mr F. Gilchrist’s stable is a promising sort. He is well grown and moves attractively in his work The Absurd—Flora MacDonald youngster in Mr J. Williamson’s stable is well forward.
