ACCEPTANCES CLOSE FRIDAY, August 22, at 8 p.m. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. All races to be run under the New Zealand Rules, of Racing and New Zealand Trotting Association. 2. Owners and trainers will only be admitted to the birdcage immediately before and directly after any race in which they have a horse engaged. 3. The winner of any race after declaration of weights may be re-handicapped. 4. Entries and Acceptances close at 8 n.m at Dunedin Jockey Club’s Office on their respective dates, unless notified Cfe the contrary. 5. Races 1,3, 6, and 8: Horses must be qualified and owners or riders must produce at Scales a certificate of qualification if required. 6. All Entries and Acceptances must be addressed to the Secretary, and contain entrance money, name, description, age, and pedigree of horse, name of owner, colours of rider, and name of trainer. 7. The Committee reserves the right to alter date or time for declaration of Weights, Nominations, or Acceptances as it may deem fit. 8 No jockey will be weighed out for a race unless the amount of his minimum fee as for a losing amount has been previously paid to the Jockeys’ Fees Clerk. 9. Owners are requested to be particular in forwarding their colours, as the Stewards ha\e decided to fine, without exception any persons neglecting to comply with this Rule. -' o person will be allowed to ride unless attired in proper jockey costume. 10. Any entry, acceptance, declaration of forfeit, or payment made by telegram or telephone shall be binding, but shall be confirmed in writing forthwith. If such confirmation be not delivered, accompanied by necessary fees, to the Secretary of the Club within seven days, the Stewards or Committee may fine the owner 2-sovs. 11. By the entering of a horse, every penson having, or subsequently acquiring, an interest in such horse, shall be deemed thereby to undertake, neither directly nor indirectly, not to make any wager with a bookmaker in connection with such horse, or any other horse in the race in which such horse is so entered. Each entry shall contain, or if it do not contain, ehall be conclusively assumed to contain such an undertaking; breach whereof shall be deemed a corrupt practice on the Turf within the meaning of Part XXXII of these Rules.
