The ignorance of farmers in connection with registration of machinery and the giving of notification of their sale was brought up° at the Morrinsville Court when J. Miln was charged with selling an engine for attachment to a milking plant and failing to notify the department of the fact, and to whom it was sold. Miln pleaded guilty, saying be had not Known it was necessary. The action being brought merely as a warning to other farmers, defendant escaped with a fine of £1 and costs.
