HIBERNIAN BENEFIT SOCIETY.

WESTPORT. May 14. The Hibernian Australasian Roman Catholic Benefit Society’s thirty-eighth annual meeting was opened at Westport to-day. The meeting this year is the triennial one. Delegates, rvho were present from all parts of the dominion, were welcomed this afternoon by the president of the local branch and Father Sweeney. A reception will he held in the Theatre Royal to-night, when the delegates will he welcomed by Mr Henries (the Mayor), Mr Holland, M.P., and Mr Archer, chairman of the county council. To-morrorv the delegates will visit the Dennlston mines, and on Friday a smoke social w r ill be held. All the delegates speak highly ot the Midland journey and the Duller scenery A motion of sympathy was passed with the late Father O’Neill’s relatives.
