EXPLOITING THE SHOTOVER. QUEENS’! OWN, May 14. An interesting development in connection with the Ivawarau gold mining scheme has just taken place. Jins is the formation of an association called i.He SHotover itiver Clairnholders’ Association/’ which was decided upon at a meeting of mining men who have interests in this field, and who, during the past couple of months, have come into agreement, one by one, with the Ivawarau Gold Mining Company regarding the community of interest that exists in the matter of the proposed dam at the Branches Gorge. The "objects of tne association are to protect and further the interests of the clairnholders, individually and collectively, and to assist as far as possible the Ivawarau Company’s project of building the branches dam. The following resolution has been passed by th© clairnholders: —“That the Shotover River clairnholders hereby assure the Kawarau Gold Mining Company of their heartiest support in the company’s decision to build a dam at the Branches on the Upper Shotover, and will be glad to assist to the best of their ability any effort for the furtherance of the movement, and of the most cordial co-operation between the claimholders on the river and the Kawarau Gold Mining Company.”
