Captain Davey, of the Tofua, describing a submarine eruption about 20 miles N.N. of Nukualofa, said: In a pale green patch half a mile in area there w-as a dense cloud of steam about 100 ft in diameter, and at the same height, with lesser vapours at a much higher altitude.
