WELLINGTON NOTES.
(From Our Own* Correspondent.) July 19. With a few exceptions, most of the visiting horses that raced at Trent bam are still there. C. W. Coleman took Tactful home to Auckland and left Oakleigh, Peter Amans and Poanui here in charge of J. Roach. They are booked to go South on Wednesday next. Mervotia, who has not done much good since" he came across from Sydney, is still here and may run at some of the Hunt Club meetings. Pink Rose was taken home to Blenheim and is therefore an unlikely starter in the Winter Cup. Dick was left at Trentham and will fulfil his engagement in the Grand National if he is all right. He was lame after he. raced here, and has not done much since. Although Omahu did not race here, he was taken South for the South Canterbury Hunt Club’s meeting. Cheer Up’ is being kept going at _ headquarters. and with Petunia, who is in the Winter Cup, niav be raced at (he Christ church Grand National meeting before the big gathering. H. J. Jefferd arrived from Napier last night with his team for Sydney, which leaves by (he Manuka to-morrow. The team Consists of Rapine. King’s Trumpeter. Grotesque. Bathos, Giggle and Jefferd also took Redpoie. the SofifjV c Grey Linnet colt purchased for J ann. the Caulfield trainer. R. E> J will go across to do the riding. J. W. I owe will pro! go South with Blue Socks and the l'rt'.J'r Carawock, by Spalpeen. W. McDonald did' take Tatau Tatau South, Sir James Carroll having given her to W. Howard to train at Napier.
