WEEK’S MINING NEWS. DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. Banking eharck have continued i-o experience good inquiry on the Dunedin Stock Exchange during the past week, and Nationals and New Zealand 3 have both registered a slight improvement. Bank of New Zealand shares, which changed hands at Gls 6d and 61s 9d on Monday, and had a reported sale i the same day at Gls, were sold at 63s 6d (two parceis) on Thursday, and had further reported sales at 62s on Tuesday, at 63s (two) on Thursday, and at C2s 9d, 635, and 64s on Friday. On Saturday last two c-alcs were reported at Gls. On ’Change on Friday these shares were sought at 6‘2s with a seller at 635. Insurance shares have not moved, but In shipping lines a fairly general advance has taken place. A sale of Hr.ddart, Barkers, which weie available on Saturday at Ms 9d, was reported on Friday at 45s 3d, and P. and O. Deterred Stock, wh ch was recused at 45344 on Friday of last -ok, was reported as having ben sold at £335 on Friday, whtn it was sought on 'Change at that price without attracting a seller lower than £339 Coal shares have also improved, Westports having had business at 40s and "WcstportStocktons (ord.) at 5s 9d (two, reported) on Monday, and at 6s lid and 7s (two) on Friday. Loan and agency and miscellaneous lines have not altered much, wiui tne exception, in the latter class, of brewery shares, which have again advanced to a fair extent. Manning's Brewery shares were sold at £6 4d on Wednesday, and a sale was reported at £G 7s 6d the following day. A sale of Crowns was reported at 54s on Tuesday. In meat preserving shares the inquiry for New Zealand Ksfrigeratings has slackened, and a parcel of the paid-up issue was released on Friday at 25s 9d. Among mining lines YVaihia have ia_ien back a little, arid, after two sales at 27s 3d on Saturday last and at 27s 5d and 2T.s 3d (two) on Monday, they were available on Friday at 26s 9d, with 26s 3d the highest offer.
