UNREST IN INDIA
POLITICAL MURDERS. LAHORE, April 30, During the last few weeks there has been an outbreak of cold-blooded political murders at Jullundur and Hosipur districts. The crimes are attributed to extremist Sikhs, who do not agree with the non-violent methods of the Akalis, a>nd recently issued a leaflet calling upon soldiers to murder their officers and people generally, to “kill the foreigners and establish a free government.” Many arrests have been made by the police, aided by infantry. Incidentally, in recognition of the assistance rendered by t-he Akalis in the recent Amritsar riots, the Government decided to release all Sikh prisoners convicted in connection with the Gurukabagh riots, except those convicted of serious prison offences while in gaol.
