ADDINGTON MARKET. CHRISTCHURCH, February 7. Fat lambs were easier by Is to Is 6d per head at to-day’s Addington market, but mutton was up from 2s to 2s 6d per bead on the preceding week, and beef by 30s per head. Store Sheep.—A very big yarding, particularly of lambs, and a keen sale resulted. Four and six-tooth ewes made 41s; lambs, 27s 9d; and wethers, 33s Ss; forward four, six, and eight-tooth wethers, ordinary, 29s to 33s 8d; medium, 27s 3d to 28s Gd; two-tooth wethers, 26s 3d to 29s 6d; forward - * lambs, 26s to 27s 9d; good rape lambs, 24s to 25s 9d; inferior, 18e 6d to 23s 6d; cull, 12s 6d to 18s; good four, six, and eight-tooth ewes, 37s to 41s; good four, six, and eight-tooth ewes, 35s 6d to 395; two-tooth halfbred ewes, 36s to 37s 3d; sound-mouthed ewes, 32s to 35s 6d; failingmouthed ewes, 21s 6d to 27s ; low-conditioned, 19s 6d to 20s 6d; aged, 17s 6d to 20s. OAMARU, February 10. Though the regular weekly stock sale had to be written down as a fiasco owing to farmers being occupied with harvest work or preparations, there has been a fair amount of business passing in the stock market, so that with giving delivery of sheep sold forward and current sales, agents have had a busy week. The sales of sheep have included some substantial lines, the chief amongst them being 800 sound-mouthed halfbred ewes at 29s and two lines of station wethers—one of 1000 at 24s 6d and the other 800 at 27s 6d. The other sales have comprised the following:—soo mixed four, six, and eight-tooth Romney-cross ewes, 355; two-tooth halfbred ewes, 345; fat wethers, 32s to 345; wethers in forward condition, 283 to 30s; store hill wethers, 24s to 26s 6d; fat and forward ewes, 203; lambs in forward condition, 25s to 26s 6d; store lambs, 20s to 235. The improved movement in store cattle etill continues a 6 a result of the abundance of feed, and a number of sales in lines are reported at the. following prices: Big bullocks in forward condition, about 30 in the line, £7 2s 6d; four-year-old bullocks in forward condition, £6 ss; two-year-old store steers, £3 10s; two-year-old heifers, £3; 18-months-old heifei-s, £1 10s to £2; mixed sex yearlings, £1 ss. Fat bullocks have changed hands at £lO 10s and fat lambs at £6 ss. Sales of dairy stock have been limited to a few lines, cows coming to profit having been disposed of at £7 and cows to .calve in the winter at £5. SOUTHLAND MARKETS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) INVERCARGILL, February 10. Fat Cattle. —The yarding this week was in excess of butchers' requirements, and the quality very mixed. Prices dropped from £1 to £1 10s per head on last week's sales. Ox beef ranged from 22s 6d to 24s per 1001 b, cow beef from 16s to 16s per 1001 b. Extra prime bullocks from £ll to £l2 15s; prime, £B* 2s 6d to £9 10s; unfinished, £6 10s to £7 10s. Cows sold from £3 to £5 10s; heifers, from £4 10s to £6 10s. Store Cattle. —Yardinga to hand in this section are small, and prices are slightly easier, good three and four-year-old steers are selling at from £6 to £7. There is a good demand for young heifers that would come in for next season; these are making from £3 15s to £4 15s. Dairy cows axe selling at from £5 to £lO for extra good sorts; average prices range about £7. Fat Sheep.—The recent good prices for fat sheep are still holding, and ewes and wethers are in strong demand. Prices for extra prime wethers range from 35s to 38s 6d; prime, from 30s to 335; light and unfinished, 265; extra prime ewes, from 30s to 32a; prime, from 25s to 275; light, 22s to 23s 6d. Fat Lambs. —Lambs are coming to hand in larger numbers, and keen competition in this section is the order of the times. Lamb is making from 9d to 9|d per lb; prioes for extra prime lambs, up to 345; average, 30s to 32s 6d; lighter sorts, 27s to 28s 6d. Store Sheep.—Any store sheep offering are in strong demand, especially store lambs fit to put on feed, but the numbers offering are far below the requirements, consequently values are too high to leave a margin for fattening. Prices for forward lambs are from 22s to 24s 6d; average lambs, from 20s to 21s 6d; poorer sorts, 18s; good two-tooth ewes, from 32a 6d to 355; average, to 30s; four, six, and eight-tooth ewes, from 26s to 23s 6d; f. and f. ewes, from 18s to 90s; two-tooth wethers, from 24s to 25s 6d; fourtooth wethers, from 28s to 30s.
