WELLINGTON NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) February 2. The Arawa, which arrived last week, brought out some thoroughbred stock for Messrs Vivian Rutherford .and T. H. Low'i-y. The three lots consisted of Minora, a chestnut mare by Minoru, and her bay colt foal by Simon Square; also the mare .Miss Cute, by Charles O’Malley. The latter was foaled in 1920, and ranks as a three year-old in the Dominion. It is understood that the brother to Cupirion, which fetched IOOOgs at the Waikanae yearling sales, is to be trained by \V. Hobbs at Ricearton. The filly from Rebekah was taken to Blenheim by P. Reardon. The celt front Bonny Helen has gone into C. Pritchard's Trench >rn stable. Dick and Maritza, who have been racing in Sydney in Mr J. J. Gerry's colours, are due on the Sydney beat. Veil did not accompany the members of R. J. Mason’s team to Ricearton, but was shipped back to Wanganui, where she was bred. Insurrection, who was recently purchased by Mr W. R. Kembali for four figures, accompanied the members of the Masterton sportsman’s team tTiat went south, Ma Boughal, who changed hands during the Wellington meeting, has been sent to Woodyille, where he will in future be ‘trained by J. Sullivan. ■ The three English fillies imported by Mr Vivian Riddiford are being worked on the tracks at Trentnahi, and have created a favourable impression.
