tongariro national park. TAUMARUNUI, January 26. The first meeting of the Tongariro National Park Board was held yesterday Mr J B Thompson (Undersecretary of Lands) presiding. The Hon. D. H. Guthrie (Minister of I-ands) was also present. the following officers were appointed : vV arden, Mr T Cullen; caretaker, Mr A. Cowley; Secretary to the board, Mr W. R. Jourdam; treasurer, Mr J. N. O’Donnell As one of the trustees in the estate of the late Mr R. C. Bruce, Mr A. G Simpson announced that the estate would donate £IOOO towards the development of the park. A sub-committee was appointed to report on a suitable site for a hostel.
