STABBED IN THE NECK. CHRISTCHURCH, January 27. The police are informed that in an affray in a store at Hororata last night Harry Breeze was stabbed in the neck with a pocket knife. Basil 'J'ayler wa s arrested and charged with the assault.
An Ashburton County farmer stated to a Guardian reporter that he had been growing wheat for about 20 years, and only on three or four occasions had he made anything out of it for himself. Sometimes it had been just possible to cover the cost of production; very often a distinct loss was shown.
