THE FRENCH MISSION
WELLINGTON, January 26. Admiral Gilly and officers of the Julca Michelet, and members of the French Mission, were entertained at luncheon at Parliament Buildings to-day by the Prime Millister. In proposing the toast of “Our Guests,” Mr Massey said he regretted that the visitors would be unable to go to th© South Island. He expressed the hope of the people of New Zealand that Britain and France would always remain th© friends and loyal allies as we had known them during the last eight years. - Admiral Gilly, in responding, said the bonds sealed in war would never be forgotten. Any difficulties which might occur between Britain and France must be settled as family differences.
