METHODIST YOUNG WOMEN
EASTER CAMP. The Methodist Young Women’s Bible Class Gamp, held at I.arnach’s Castle, over Easter, was attended by nearly 200 delegates, among whom was Dr Muriel Bell, of Dunedin. A feature of the programme was the daily Bible study circles, in which from six to eight girls met under the leadership of a member of the Leaders’ Study Circle, which met from 7 to 8 each morning. These circles studied the text book, “Show Us the Father,” compiled by David Ross. The evenings were occupied by a short service of intercession, followed by an address on some topic related to the studies discussed in the study circles. The camp was fortunate in having the Rev. C. H. Laws, 8.A., president of the Methodist Centenary Conference, as the speaker for the closing session. The service on Sunday morning was conducted by the Rev. Dr Waddell, who spoke on “The Empty Tomb in the Garden,” an address very much appreciated by all the campers. The speakers who came from the citv to address the camp were the Revs. C. Eaton, R. Raine. M. A. Rugby Pratt, and Mr S. G. M’Farlane. Preparatory to the morning service of Sunday, Miss Elsie Graham, travelling secretary of the Student Movement, who was a member of the camp, gave an address on the dire needs of the students of Russia and Central and during the service conducted bv Dr Waddell an offertory amounting to nearly £6 was taken up for the relief funds. On Monday afternoon the estate was thronged with visitors of the delegates. After the camp photographs had been taken, the visitors were entertained to afternoon tea which was followed by a concert.
