A young man named Richmond, employed us a farrier in Messrs Allison Pros.’ smithy, Wyndham. met with misadventure on Saturday morning, while at work. He was on the point of shooing a horse, and was in near proximity to the animal for that purpose when it suddenly lunged with one of its hind feet, and kicked Richmond with such force on one of his logs that the limb was broken. After Dr Baird, whov was at once summoned, had rendered first aid, the sufferer was conveyed to Gore 11 ospital.
