PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS. WELLINGTON, June 30. The following promotions and transfers in connection with the po'ice force are announced : PROMOTIONS. Inspector C. W. Hendry (Christchurch) to be superintendent at Christchurch, vico Superintendent Dwyer (retired). Inspector A. Cruickshanks, late of Greymouth, on leave prior to retirement, to be honorary superintendent. Sub-inspector E. Bales (Auckland) to be inspector at Auckland, vice Inspector Johnson (retired). Senior Sergeant Muggevidge, police storekeeper, promoted to the sub-inspector. Senior Sergeant J. M'Namara, instructor at the Training Depot, promoted to be subinspector. Senior Sergeant J. K. Simpson (Oamaru) promoted to be sub-inspector at Christchurch. Constable E. J. Carroll (Whataupoko, Gisborne) promoted io sergeant in charge of Tokomaru Bay. TRANSFERS. Senior Sergeant V. J.
